AGE (Advanced Glycation End-products)

Compounds formed by the irreversible binding between sugars and proteins (glycation). In the skin, they stiffen and yellow collagen and elastin, accelerating visible skin ageing. Their formation is accelerated by a diet high in fast sugars and ultra-processed foods cooked at high temperatures.
