Hypothalamic-pituitary axis

Hormonal regulation system linking the hypothalamus to the pituitary. The hypothalamus produces releasing hormones (GnRH, TRH, CRH) controlling pituitary hormone secretion (LH, FSH, TSH, ACTH). For the female cycle, it regulates gonadotropin secretion controlling ovulation and sex hormone production.
