Peripheral conversion

Process by which inactive T4 is transformed into active T3 in peripheral tissues such as the liver, muscles, brain and kidneys, thanks to deiodinase enzymes. This conversion is influenced by DIO2 genotype, stress level, diet and micronutrient status.
