    Hydrolipidic film

Fine natural emulsion composed of water (sweat and transepidermal water) and lipids (sebum) covering the skin surface. This film maintains the slightly acidic skin pH (4.5 to 5.5), limits transepidermal water loss, protects against pathogens and nourishes the skin microbiota. Its alteration by excessive cleansing, aggressive detergent products or certain medications can cause dry skin, irritation and skin dysbiosis.
