Hepatotoxicity
Toxicity of a substance to the liver, ranging from a simple elevation of hepatic enzymes to acute hepatitis. In phytotherapy, some plants show a documented hepatotoxicity signal, such as black cohosh, mainly with adulterated or poor quality products. The EMA recommends medical monitoring for any prolonged use and increased vigilance in people with hepatic history.
