LPS (Lipopolysaccharides)
Fragments of Gram-negative bacterial walls that, when the intestinal barrier is weakened (increased intestinal permeability), enter the bloodstream and activate TLR4 receptors on immune cells. They trigger a systemic inflammatory cascade (metabolic endotoxaemia) that can manifest on the skin as acne, eczema or psoriasis.
