MMP-1 (Matrix metalloproteinase 1)

Enzyme that degrades type I and III collagen in the skin, contributing to skin ageing and wrinkle formation. Its production is stimulated by UV rays, inflammation and oxidative stress. Resveratrol inhibits MMP-1 production. Green tea EGCG and vitamin C also reduce its activity.
