Master transcription factor of cellular antioxidant defence, regulating the expression of more than 200 antioxidant genes (glutathione, superoxide dismutase, catalase) in keratinocytes and hepatocytes. Activated by dietary phytonutrients: broccoli sulforaphane, curcumin, resveratrol, EGCG. Its activation simultaneously protects the skin and liver from oxidative stress.
