Ozempic
Brand name of semaglutide (Novo Nordisk) approved for type 2 diabetes. Weekly subcutaneous injection at 0.5 or 1 mg. It mimics GLP-1 continuously, slows gastric emptying, prolongs satiety and improves blood glucose. Diverted off-label for weight loss, with the same limits as Wegovy: rebound on discontinuation and loss of lean mass.
