2/16 OH oestrone ratio

A urinary marker of the quality of hepatic oestrogen detoxification. 2-hydroxyestrone is a protective metabolite, while 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone is potentially pro-proliferative. A ratio above 1.5 is expected in unsupplemented women, above 2.8 in hormone-supplemented women.
