Sirtuins

Family of NAD+-dependent enzymes (SIRT1 to SIRT7) involved in regulating autophagy, DNA repair, stress response, metabolism and cellular longevity. SIRT1 and SIRT3 are particularly studied for their anti-ageing role. Activated by energy deficit (fasting, exercise), polyphenols (resveratrol) and preserved NAD+ status.
