Tyrosine
Non-essential amino acid (synthesised from phenylalanine) serving as a precursor to thyroid hormones (T3 and T4), catecholamines (dopamine, adrenaline, noradrenaline) and melanin. In thyroid hormone synthesis, two tyrosine molecules are iodinated and coupled by the thyroid to form T4 and T3. Insufficient tyrosine or iodine intake can compromise thyroid hormone synthesis. Used in supplementation to support cognitive performance and stress tolerance.
Never use a dietary supplement without the advice of a healthcare professional. Overdoses as well as deficiencies are not without risk.
