Wegovy
Brand name of semaglutide (Novo Nordisk) approved for obesity (BMI ≥ 30, or ≥ 27 with comorbidity). Weekly injection at 2.4 mg, a higher dose than Ozempic. Average weight loss of 15% at 68 weeks (STEP 1 trial, NEJM 2021), but two thirds of the weight returns within the year following discontinuation without a structured exit strategy.
