IL-17 / IL-23
Key pro-inflammatory cytokines of the Th17 pathway, the immunological signature of psoriasis. IL-23 is produced by dendritic cells and macrophages, stimulating Th17 lymphocytes that produce IL-17. Intestinal dysbiosis, notably the reduction of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii and increase of Prevotella copri, amplifies this pathway. Anti-IL-17 and anti-IL-23 biotherapies are the reference treatments for moderate to severe psoriasis.
